Specialist Physiotherapist - 12 months FTC

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Specialist Physiotherapist to deliver a range of physiotherapy interventions, including therapeutic trampolining, hydrotherapy, and other evidence-based treatments, for a diverse caseload of students with complex needs. This position will provide temporary cover for maternity leave within the team. This is a key role in ensuring high quality, person-centred physiotherapy that promotes functional ability, independence, and the wellbeing of young people.

You will carry out comprehensive assessments to develop and deliver effective, evidence-based programmes tailored to the needs, abilities, and aspirations of each student, while ensuring programmes are appropriate, measurable, and cost-effective.

You will provide specialist advice, guidance, and training to colleagues, parents, and external professionals, supporting a collaborative approach to meeting students needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist who is passionate about delivering specialist therapy and supporting the development of both students and colleagues within a dynamic, student-focused environment.

Main duties of the job

Salary: £19.73 per hour, £37,960.52 per annum

Contract Length: 12 months (from November 2025)

Working Weeks: 52

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Job responsibilities

The role of the Specialist Physiotherapy Therapist (PT) delivers a rangeof physiotherapy treatments including therapeutic trampolining and hydrotherapyto a caseload of students with a wide range of complex needs. Treatmentsare based on a comprehensive assessment of need that results in high quality,current evidence-based, appropriate and cost-effective programmes to meet theneeds, abilities and aspirations of service users, students and funders.

This role provides support, advice, and guidance to our colleagues andother professionals, whilst also delivering training, coaching and mentoring tostaff and parents and support the development of other PTs and student PTswithin the service. They will provide support and supervision for juniorPhysiotherapy Therapists and Therapy assistants and will deputise for Lead PTas required.

Person Specification
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification clinical experience as a Physiotherapist
  • Recent experience of delivering programmes of treatments to with a range of complex needs including learning difficulties and/or other disabilities
  • Experience of facilitating initial therapy assessments to create a programmer of therapy/treatment
  • Experience of overseeing and supervising treatments and programs
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable and respond to the daily changes to the timetable and student variability
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • IT literate with a working knowledge of MS office in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to create reports to communicate a range of objectives and information with a diverse audience
  • Experience of training colleagues in carrying out therapy programmes
  • Experience of staff management, supervision and appraisal and a demonstrated ability to develop staff
  • Experience of working in Education and learning
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification clinical experience
  • BSc (or higher) Physiotherapy (hons)
  • Completion of appropriate qualifications and experience in Hydrotherapy delivery
  • Completion of appropriate qualifications and experience in Rebound delivery
