Job summary

NHS Scotland in Kirkcaldy is seeking a Physiotherapist to join our Community Rehabilitation Team based at Whyteman’s Brae Hospital. You will work with adults in the community and in outpatient settings, with a focus on prevention of hospital admissions and supporting timely discharge.

The role requires HCPC registration, a Physiotherapy degree, CPD, audit and service development experience, and experience supervising junior staff at Band 6 level. Travel across the area is essential.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join our Community Rehabilitation Team based in Whyteman’s Brae Hospital, Kirkcaldy.

You will require to have NHS experience of working with adults, mainly Older People and have assessment and treatment knowledge and skills associated with this patient group.

Patients are seen in their own homes, homely setting or as an outpatient.

The team focus is on community rehabilitation, preventing unnecessary admission, supporting earliest possible discharge from hospital and enabling patients to remain as independent as possible in their homes.

You will require to have a degree in Physiotherapy and be registered with the HCPC. Evidence of continuous professional development appropriate for the banding is essential. Evidence of involvement in audit and service development is required and experience of supervising junior staff for Band 6 level.

There may be occasions where you will be required to work in one of the other community hospital sites.

Our service offers regular supervision, PDP and supports training opportunities.

The ability to travel throughout the area is essential as this post is community based.

Public Holiday working is in operation (accept Christmas Day and New Year’s Day).
