More detail about the role This post provides a unique opportunity to join the pharmacy team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and provide pharmaceutical care for patients seen within our Renal Services. The postholder will be embedded into the Renal services multidisciplinary teams promoting the safe and effective use of medicines across the Specialty as well as ensuring the cost-effective use of resources. The postholder will need to be a confident individual, an independent prescriber and able to manage a defined patient caseload The Royal Devon was established in April 2022, bringing together the expertise of both the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust. We are looking for an innovative and experienced specialist pharmacist to join our team and enhance our ability to provide medicines support for Renal patients. The postholder will be a key member of the pharmacy team providing supervision and development of pharmacists and maintaining our core services. You will be an excellent communicator interacting with healthcare professionals and patients. You must be highly self-motivated, able to demonstrate leadership skills and have the ability to plan and work, both independently and as part of the wider healthcare team, to deliver excellent pharmaceutical care to our patients. Experienced clinical pharmacists at band 7 with a prescribing qualification and an interest in developing into a specialist band 8a role may be considered for this post depending on experience.

Requirement to participate in 7 day working to include late duties, bank holidays and weekend working. This post has been identified as involving access to vulnerable adults and/or children and in line with Trust policy successful applicants will be required to undertake a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure Check/Enhanced Disclosure Check. Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Interview Date: Tuesday 15th September 2026.
