Job summary

West London NHS Trust is seeking a passionate and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join as Lead for Dysphagia in the Hounslow area. The post involves autonomous care for babies, children and young people with dysphagia, with a small preschool caseload for complex SLT conditions.

The role sits within the Hounslow Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service, a large, well-integrated team that supports staff development through supervision, appraisal and CPD opportunities.

The Hounslow Speech and Language Therapy Team are seeking a passionate and experienced therapist to join as our Lead for Dysphagia.

We are looking for a therapist who has significant experience and is autonomous in providing care to babies, children and young people with dysphagia. The post also includes a small caseload of preschool children with complex speech, language and communication needs.

Hounslow Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service is a large well integrated team. We are committed to supporting staff in developing their skills and expertise. We offer a comprehensive supervision and appraisal structure, peer support and both internal and external CPD opportunities.

In support of the above the role includes the opportunity to be involved in training and supervision of staff as well as service development. The senior leadership team works closely together to continue to shape and develop the service, alongside other leads in Children’s Therapy Services e.g. physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
