Job Description

The post-holder will participate in elective in-patient and day-case surgeries, outpatient clinics, and engage in educational and administrative activities, including active involvement in weekly urology clinical governance and audit meetings. They will be attached to a Consultant surgeon and supported by a Senior House officer.

Main Duties

The main duties include:

1. Covering outpatient clinics, including diagnostics, theatres, and on-call duties, including non-resident night on-call.

Detailed Job Responsibilities

You will participate in elective inpatient and day-case surgeries, diagnostics, outpatient clinics, and administrative activities. All middle-grade doctors are expected to cover unexpected absences internally where possible. You may also be required to perform duties during emergencies or unforeseen circumstances at the request of the relevant consultant. Such additional duties will be exceptional and not prolonged or routine.

Application

• GMC registration with MRCS, FRCS, or equivalent.

Experience

• Minimum of 6 months experience in urology at SHO level or above.
• Evidence of ongoing personal medical education.
• Interest in and knowledge of medical audit.

Other Qualities

• Flexibility to meet NHS needs.
• Ability to deliver high-quality teaching.
• Familiarity with GMC's 'Good Medical Practice' standards.
