Job summary

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust in Birmingham is seeking an Orthoptist to join a large team within the Ophthalmic multi-disciplinary team at the Birmingham & Midland Eye Centre. You will work across Sandwell Health Campus and community clinics to deliver orthoptic services to children and adults.

Qualifications

• Orthoptists encouraged to participate in clinical audit and research to develop themselves as part of the ophthalmic team.
• The post holder will be involved in investigation, diagnosis and management of ophthalmic conditions within the orthoptic service.
• CPD requirements aligned with Health and Care Professions Council standards.

Responsibilities

• Work within a large team of Orthoptists as part of an ophthalmic MDT at BMEC.
• Deliver orthoptic services to paediatric and adult patients across multiple sites.
• Participate in vision screening and Community Orthoptics Outreach services.
• Carry out clinical administrative duties and contribute to safe patient care.
