Job summary

County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Specialist Orthoptist. The post involves managing a general Orthoptic caseload, conducting new and follow-up assessments, and working in urgent care and secondary screening clinics across trust sites.

You should have a Diploma/degree in Orthoptics with HCPC registration and be prepared to work across multiple sites. The service offers teaching, CPD opportunities, and a commitment to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration required
• Diploma/degree in Orthoptics
• Experience in clinical Orthoptics including paediatrics, neurology or community services
• Willingness to travel between Trust sites

Responsibilities

• Hold own general Orthoptic caseload and perform new and follow-up assessments
• Work in urgent care clinic and provide secondary screening clinics
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary clinics with paediatric ophthalmology and optometrists
• Travel to different trust sites as required
