Job summary

Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, a leading teaching hospital, seeks an enthusiastic specialist optometrist to join our large, friendly team. The optometry department includes over 40 optometrists delivering refraction, complex medical contact lens management and low vision rehabilitation.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team to support cataract, glaucoma and macular treatment services, and participate in research, audits and teaching with links to the University of Manchester.

Qualifications

• Hospital optometry experience preferred.
• GOC registration required.
• Bachelor's degree in optometry or ophthalmic optics.

Responsibilities

• Undertake highly specialist clinical activity requiring extensive knowledge and expertise.
• Participate in critical analysis of the quality of care within Optometry Services.
• Work with Principal and Lead Optometrists to maintain professional standards.
• Assist in training for pre-registration optometrists and other staff, and contribute to teaching programs.
• Contribute to clinical research programmes with Ophthalmology and Optometry departments.
