Job summary

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist in Exeter to support a rehabilitation ward within North Devon. You will work in an integrated OT and Physiotherapy team to help patients achieve rehabilitation goals and maximise independence.

You will develop assessment and intervention skills, set patient-centred goals, deliver rehabilitation, and contribute to complex discharge planning, including equipment provision.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate experience and/or training in Occupational Therapy.
• Excellent communication within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and extend assessment, intervention and clinical decision-making skills.
• Set patient-centred goals and plan rehabilitation with patients and MDT.
• Deliver individual and group rehabilitation interventions.
• Support complex discharge planning and equipment provision.
• Supervise Therapy Clinical Support Workers and OT students.
• Contribute to development of an integrated therapy service.
