Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the Older Adult Community hub in Knowsley. You will contribute to high quality dementia assessments and treatments and support MDT care for people living with complex mental health needs, aiming to promote independence.

The role involves running group interventions and supporting people to remain at home where possible, with flexible working considerations.

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to develop your clinical skills within a supportive community mental health team? Are you passionate about using your assessment, problem-solving and communication skills to deliver person-centred interventions that support recovery and promote independence for individuals with complex mental health needs?

We have an 12 month fixed term/secondment opportunity. Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapy post that is integral to our multi disciplinary team at the Older Adult Community hub, Knowsley.

You will be contributing to the high quality assessment and treatment for people living with dementia , facilitating interventions and aiding diagnosistic processes.

Informal visits and/or phone contact to gain further information from the team manager/OT are very much welcomed.

To deliver specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment interventions for an identified group of people/caseload.

To support core duties of the Older Adult Community hub, Knowsley.

The post holder will contribute to effective MDT working supporting people in the community living with dementia.

The post holder will complete assessments which support us in keeping people living at home for longer.

The post holder will support the running of group interventions.
