Job summary

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) is seeking a Band 6 Specialist MSK Physiotherapist to join the Barnet MSK Physiotherapy Team. This permanent, full-time role has a primary base in Barnet and involves working across CLCH clinics and sites within Barnet to deliver high-quality physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients with musculoskeletal conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload and take responsibility for assessment, treatment and ongoing management.
• Undertake comprehensive assessments of MSK patients using strong clinical reasoning.
• Develop and deliver individualised rehabilitation plans based on evidence-based practice.
• Deliver safe, compassionate, person-centred care and promote inclusivity.
• Know limits of practice and seek support through supervision and MDT discussions.
• Work with professional standards and NHS guidance to ensure quality care.
• Communicate with patients with sensitivity, including those with complex needs.
• Collaborate with the wider MDT and refer to other services as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary assessments to support coordinated care.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Specialist MSK Physiotherapist to join our Barnet MSK Physiotherapy Team at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH).

This is a permanent, full-time role, with a primary base in Barnet. The role will involve working across a number of CLCH clinics and sites within Barnet, providing high-quality physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients with a range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 6 Specialist MSK Physiotherapist, you will:

• Manage your own caseload, taking professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and ongoing management of patients in your care.
• Undertake comprehensive assessments of patients with a range of acute, chronic and complex MSK presentations, using strong clinical reasoning and analytical skills.
• Develop and deliver individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans using evidence-based practice and appropriate treatment techniques.
• Deliver safe, compassionate and person-centred care, supporting an inclusive and equitable service for all patients.
• Recognise the limits of your practice and seek appropriate support through clinical supervision, senior colleagues and multidisciplinary discussions.
• Work in accordance with professional standards, national guidance and Trust policies.
• Communicate with compassion and sensitivity when supporting patients with complex physical, psychological or social needs.
• Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team and refer patients to appropriate services, including other physiotherapy specialties, Podiatry and Biomechanics.
• Participate in multidisciplinary assessments where required to support coordinated patient care.

• BSc Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
• Evidence of continuous professional and personal development
• Registration with the Health Professions Council

Experience

• Experience of working in an outpatient department
• Experience of working within NHS environment
• Experience of working with a wide range of patient conditions
• Research project carried out at undergraduate level
• Experience at Band 6 level

Skills & Knowledge

• Effective physiotherapy manual skills to assess and treat patients with neuromusculoskeletal conditions.
• To work at or towards M level standard towards a full Masters qualification
• Knowledge of Clinical Governance and its influence on Service Development
• Knowledge of recent research supporting or negating physiotherapy management of neuromusculoskeletal conditions
• Effective physiotherapy manual skills to assess and treat patients with neuromusculoskeletal conditions.
• To work at or towards M level standard towards a full Masters qualification
• Knowledge of NICE guidelines and the NSF’s
• Presentation skills to lead and teach in-service training sessions
