Job summary
We have a vacancy in our well established team for a passionate midwife to lead our diabetic team, to cover 12 months maternity leave.
The midwife will be based at Chelsea and WestminsterHospital and will also work with the multidisciplinary diabetes in pregnancy team both in both face to face and virtual settings.
Main duties of the jobAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Specialist Midwifery team at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital as the Lead Midwife for the diabetic service, to cover 12 month maternity leave
The successful post-holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide a high standard of personalised and evidence based care to women with pre-existing and gestational diabetes throughout pregnancy.
Key components of the role are the running of both face to face and virtual clinics, diabetes app management, education for staff and women to support positive pregnancy experiences and optimum health, care pathway navigation, care planning for pregnancy, labour and birth and MDT presentations.
Applicants are expected to have experience in working within specialist midwifery, and should be able to evidence in depth knowledge and skills surrounding care of women affected by pre-existing/gestational diabetes.
