Job summary
The Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract is seeking a Lymphoedema Practitioner to join our Clinical Services, providing care to people with lymphoedema in Wakefield and North Kirklees. You will work predominantly in community clinics as part of a small team to develop the service and support the wider clinical team.
We offer a supportive environment, with a focus on improving quality of life, independence and wellbeing, and you will deliver specialist treatments such as manual lymph drainage
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience as a nurse or allied health professional and hold relevant professional registration.
- Diploma in lymphoedema management incorporating intensive therapy, manual lymphatic drainage, MLLB (or willingness to work towards).
- Experience working independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Providing specialist lymphoedema assessment, treatment and ongoing management for patients with a range of complex needs.
- Developing individualised treatment and management plans in partnership with patients, their carers and healthcare professionals.
- Providing specialist treatments including Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Simple Lymphatic Drainage, compression therapy and multi-layer lymphoedema bandaging.
