Job summary

The Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract is recruiting a Lymphoedema Assistant Practitioner (Development Role) to support our lymphoedema service. This developing post invites an experienced Health Care Assistant or Nursing Associate to grow their knowledge in a specialist field.

You will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients with lymphoedema, both independently and with our team. The role includes clinic work, patient education, and close liaison with other services to ensure

Qualifications

• Level 2/3 NVQ or BTEC in a care related subject or equivalent.
• Willingness to work towards Diploma in Lymphoedema Management.
• Experience working independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Good patient communication, including with barriers to understanding.

Responsibilities

• Delivering treatment including skin care, compression therapy, lymphatic drainage, bandaging, pneumatic compression and kinesio-taping.
• Conducting unsupervised clinics for stable patients and supporting review clinics.
• Educating patients and carers on self-care and lifestyle practices.
• Accurately assessing and monitoring treatment outcomes.
• Liaising with internal and external services to ensure holistic patient support.
• Participating in wellbeing groups and initiatives.
