This specialist-grade post in plastic surgery centres on skin procedures within the dermatology service at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. The work is mainly outpatient skin procedures, with one theatre session a month and a role in the skin multidisciplinary team.

Applicants will train dermatology colleagues and medical students, contribute to service change linked to the Trust's hospital transformation programme, and deliver clinical and quality targets.

Formación

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
• Minimum 6 years as a plastic surgeon.
• FRCS (Plastic Surgery) or GMC-equivalent qualification.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake outpatient dermatology skin procedures.
• Take part in the skin multidisciplinary team as a core member.
• Undertake one theatre session a month of skin surgery.
• Support the dermatology service and medical students through training and continuity of service.
• Contribute to service development, including national and local targets, QIPs, audits, guidelines and teaching.
• Support moving elective activity out of theatres into outpatient settings as per GIRFT guidance.
• Deliver clinical and quality targets agreed with clinical teams and commissioners.
• Work effectively within a multi-professional team.
• Agree and deliver a job plan within three months of starting (8.5 PAs direct clinical care and 1.5 SPAs for FT).

What the job involves

• Agree and deliver a job plan within three months of starting, including 8.5 PAs of direct clinical care and 1.5 SPAs for full-time working

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent
• MRCS
• FRCS (Plastic Surgery) or an equivalent qualification approved by the GMC

Registration & licences

Experience

• 12 years' post-qualification experience
• 6 years' experience as a plastic surgeon
