The University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Breast Specialist Radiologist based at Worthing and St Richard's Hospitals.

This full-time post (10 PAs) covers all aspects of breast screening and breast imaging, including screening reporting, clinics, ultrasound, and MRI reporting where appropriate.

The Integrated Breast Services team provides high-volume breast care for over 135,000 women and supports multidisciplinary work in a supportive NHS environment.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Integrated Breast Services at the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust for a Breast Specialist Radiologist. The duties of this role will be based at Worthing and St Richard's Hospitals.

The role will be a full time 10PA post with the opportunity to cover all aspects of the breast screening and breast imaging services. This includes breast screening reporting, screening assessment clinics, one stop 2WW rule clinics, ultrasound and interventional lists and depending on experience MRI and cross-sectional reporting.

The successful candidate will join a busy Integrated Breast Service, providing breast screening to a population of over 135,000 women, receiving over 8,000 GP referrals and treating around 1000 new breast cancers.

Digital equipment including tomosynthesis and VAB/E are available at Worthing.

Main duties of the job

The clinical duties of the post will include the following:

• Support breast screening reporting, screening assessment clinics and arbitration sessions
• Support MDM
• Support one stop symptomatic clinics
• Support ultrasound and interventional procedures, including VAB/E and localisation procedures
• Report breast MRIs / cross sectional imaging
• Support interval cancer and previously assessed cancer reviews
