Job summary

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) is recruiting a Specialist Harm Reduction/Addictions Nurse (Band 6) for ABSDAS in Abergavenny. The role combines advanced addictions nursing with harm reduction to support recovery and improve health outcomes.

You will assess complex needs, plan care within ABSDAS criteria, and deliver treatment and support across a multidisciplinary team, with emphasis on safeguarding and service development. Welsh language ability is desirable.

Qualifications

• Mental health or adult nurse qualification.
• Counselling/therapy qualification.
• Experience working with substance use.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, treatment, care coordination and harm reduction interventions for individuals affected by drug and alcohol use.
• Manage a complex caseload with autonomous clinical decision-making.
• Coordinate care across multiple agencies and contribute to safeguarding, clinical governance, education and service development.
