Job description

Portsmouth Dietitians are recruiting a Band 6 gastroenterology dietitian to join our award-winning Acute Dietetic team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with a passion for supporting nutrition support in gastroenterology to provide expert dietetic care to gastroenterology and hepatology patients at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

The role is ideally suited for an experienced band 5 dietitian or a junior band 6 dietitian seeking to increase their clinical experience. Knowledge of parental nutrition would be beneficial, but full support will be provided to complete clinical competencies. Study days and courses are incorporated into the role to ensure ongoing clinical development and networking.

Our team strives for clinical excellence and development; research, service evaluations, and projects are highly encouraged. We support the development of analytical and research skills, and many of our dietitians have presented at conferences worldwide. Teaching opportunities and engagement with staff and the wider public are embraced.

Our department is involved in training student dietitians, with supervision of students from the University of Surrey and the University of Winchester included in this role. You will be encouraged to participate in leadership training and support junior team members when appropriate.

You will be based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital site as part of the Acute Dietetic team. We pride ourselves on our supportive and friendly environment. Part-time and flexible working requests are welcomed and accommodated where possible.

If interested, please contact Sarah Williams at 02392 286000 ext 3223 for further discussion.
