Job summary

NextPharma Technologies USA Inc in the UK seeks a facilities maintenance operative to support building services in a cGMP environment, based in East Calder, Scotland.

You will log PAT testing, repair plumbing, lighting, joinery and painting, and provide sanitary support for on-site facilities while assisting IT and engineers. A forklift/reach truck licence is beneficial, and you’ll work with contractors as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Experience in a GMP environment.

Responsibilities

• Log and test all equipment on site requiring PAT.
• Repair minor plumbing, lighting, and joinery issues.
• Paint and maintain areas as required.
• Provide sanitary support for toilets and kitchens.
• Drive forklift and reach truck when needed.
• Assist IT and facilities engineers; manage on-site contractors.
• Daily checks on BMS alarms; weekly fire/safety checks.
• Keep workshop and surrounding areas tidy.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working person who is willing to learn new skills and have a positive, pro-active approach. Previous experience of pharmaceutical manufacture is not essential, but you must have knowledge and experience of working within a cGMP environment.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

• All equipment on site requiring PAT testing is logged and tested for electrical
• Repair minor plumbing issues
• Change and minor repairs to lighting
• Minor joinery work
• Painting areas when required
• Sanitary support for on site toilets, kitchens etc. when issues reported
• Assist warehouse when required
• Drive forklift truck
• Drive reach truck
• Assist IT department when required
• Assist engineers in facilities department when required
• Manage contractors when they are on site
• Order items for the facilities when needed
• Daily checks on BMS for alarms on HVAC plant
• Daily walk round on site checking all plant rooms for any abnormalities
• Weekly checks on emergency showers and eye wash stations
• Weekly checks on toilet showers
• Weekly checks on salt levels for humidification systems
• Weekly Fire Alarm Test
• Monthly checks on fire extinguishers
• Monthly checks on emergency lights
• Monthly checks on cleanroom air pressures
• Monthly readings of all utility meters
• Keep workshop and outside area of workshop clean and tidy
