At the RSPB, we are passionate about young people and about nature. We run a variety of projects to help deepen people’s love of nature and connect, inspire, and mobilise more people to save nature.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with specialist skills to support the RSPB’s Education, Families, and Youth team in developing our work with children and young people through our RSPB Youth Groups (Wildlife Explorers and Phoenix groups). This is a home-based, flexible role requiring around 3-4 hours per week.
What you will be doing
As an RSPB Youth Group Social Media Volunteer, you will help promote our Youth Groups’ events and activities to increase their reach and encourage more children and young people to join, as well as attracting new volunteers. Your responsibilities include:

This role offers an exciting opportunity to use your skills to inspire young people about nature and wildlife, contributing to conservation efforts. You will be supported by the RSPB’s Education, Families, and Youth team, with an induction, relevant training, and ongoing support. You will also learn about the workings of the RSPB and gain experience in an environmental charity, while making new friends through virtual meetings.
We are looking for someone with:
Access to the internet is required; IT equipment can be provided if needed.
You will be supported by the team, with an induction, training, and ongoing assistance to develop your skills.
Approximately 3-4 hours per week.
Volunteers aged 12-25 can claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
