Volunteer photographer needed for inclusive family event taking place in Leeds, Sunday 29th June.

By capturing high-quality, heartfelt images of the day, you will play a vital role in helping SNAPS to celebrate and share the magic of the Superhero Challenge. Your images (which can be fully credited to you) will be used in our reports, newsletters, social media, website, and press coverage, helping us to grow awareness of SNAPS. Please help us showcase the incredible strength, joy and resilience of our SNAPS families, and be part of something truly special!

What are we looking for?

Photography skills – You should be confident using your camera in an outdoor, fast-paced event environment and able to capture candid, joyful moments as well as posed shots. An eye for storytelling – We’re looking for someone who can tell a story through images, focusing on emotion, inclusion and celebration. Awareness of safeguarding and consent – You’ll need to respect our photography consent guidelines and be mindful when photographing children and families. Friendly and professional approach – You’ll be engaging with families, staff and volunteers, so a warm, respectful manner is important. Good time management – We’re working with a short event window, so being organised and responsive on the day will help ensure key moments are captured. Editing and file delivery – Ability to edit and deliver a selection of high-quality digital images within an agreed time frame (we’ll provide a brief for what we need). This opportunity would suit a photographer who is passionate about community, inclusion, and capturing authentic human moments. Experience working with children or in an event setting is a bonus, but not essential.

What will you be doing?

SNAPS is looking for a talented and enthusiastic volunteer photographer to help us capture the joy, energy, and spirit of our Superhero Challenge 2025 - our biggest fundraising event of the year. Event Date Sunday 29th June 2025 Location John Charles Centre for Sport, Leeds Time 10 30am–12 30pm (with arrival from 10am) The Superhero Challenge gives children with additional needs the chance to feel like superheroes for the day - running, walking or wheeling around a track in their superhero capes, whilst being cheered on by friends, families and supporters. The event also features a variety of inclusive family activities such as face painting, a petting zoo, a silent disco, inflatables, and much more. What We Need We’d love a photographer who can Attend the event on the day and capture natural, joyful moments throughout the morning Take a mix of action shots (e.g. children taking part in the challenge), candid photos of families enjoying the activities, and posed group photos as needed Deliver a curated set of high-quality, digital images that we can use for Social media and marketing materials Press releases Our website and future promotional materials Whilst this is a one-off volunteering opportunity, if you enjoy working with us, there may be further chances to photograph our projects and family sessions throughout the year. Who You’ll Work With You’ll be supported by a member of the SNAPS staff team, who will Brief you on key moments to capture Help you navigate the event space Introduce you to families (with prior consent) for featured photos We’ll provide advice on photography consent, so you know exactly who can and can’t be photographed.
