Durham County Council is recruiting a Specialist EOTIS Intervention Teacher on a temporary/casual basis to deliver highly personalised education to pupils accessing learning through an EOTIS package. The successful candidate will be an experienced SEND teacher, able to adapt the curriculum, work in a supportive team, and travel across County Durham to placements.

DBS disclosure is required; salary £45,352 pro rata; closing date 11 September 2026.

Specialis EOTIS Intervention Teacher required on a temporary / casual basis.

The Woodlands is seeking to recruit experienced SEND Intervention Teachers to deliver high-quality, personalised education to pupils accessing learning through an EOTIS package. The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of delivering a highly personalised and adapted curriculum to meet the needs of pupils with complex SEND needs.
  • Demonstrate high expectations in all aspects of education, promoting excellence, engagement and positive outcomes.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling strong relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
  • Be well organized, self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Be committed to making a positive difference to the lives of young people and supporting them to reach their full potential.

The post holder will be required to travel across all of County Durham. Teaching may take place in the family home, a Durham County building or a Woodlands base.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
