Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s Adult Clinical Dietetic Team is seeking a dietitian to provide specialist assessment and interventions for patients on home enteral tube feeding and complex nutrition support across clinics, homes and wards.

You will supervise junior dietitians and students, work in multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to education, audits and service development.”

Qualifications

• Degree in nutrition and dietetics or first level degree with postgraduate diploma in nutrition and dietetics.
• Practice educator status.
• Current HCPC registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist dietetic assessment and intervention for patients on home enteral tube feeding and complex nutrition support.
• Manage a varied, complex adult caseload across community and acute services by clinic, telephone, home visit and ward.
• Supervise and line manage junior dietitians, dietetic support workers and students.
• Work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, patient-centred care.
• Give highly specialised dietetic advice using advanced counselling and motivational interviewing.
• Act as a specialist resource for patients, families and other health professionals.
• Plan and deliver education and training for colleagues, students and outside agencies.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and governance.
• Advise on and help formulate policies for home enteral feeding and nutrition support.
• Take part in audit and research.
• Participate in Regional Home Enteral Tube Feeding Network Group.
• Contribute to standards and policies for the dietetic department and Trust.
