Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Inpatient Dietitian team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Dietitian in Critical Care and Surgery to join our Integrated Nutrition and Dietetic service at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. You will work alongside a band 7 Dietitian to provide a safe, effective and evidence based dietetic service to the critical care and surgical patients.

You will be joining a supportive and enthusiastic team of 19 Dietitians, 2 Dietetic Support Workers and a Dietetic Apprentice. as well as working as an integral part of an MDT alongside consultants and specialist nurses. The successful candidate will support driving quality improvement within the service.

We are looking for a passionate and innovative dietitian who is keen to share and develop their clinical knowledge that they have acquired in relation to nutrition support, critical care and surgical dietetics. The role requires excellent communication and team working skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously to manage a specialist caseload.

To provide a safe, effective and consistently high quality Nutrition and Dietetic service at Stockport Foundation Trust.

Manage a delegated caseload within specialist area. To assess, plan and implement patient centred, evidence –based interventions

To provide evidence-based care, education and information to patients, carers and health care professionals. This will be in a range of inpatient and outpatient settings.

Contribute to the training and development of Dietetic students, Dietitians and Dietetic Assistant/Support workers.

Supervising and supporting Band 5 Dietitians and Dietetic Assistants/Support workers
