Specialist Dental Nurse

Join a friendly, motivated team providing Dental Nursing duties within the Day Surgery Unit, General Theatres, Dental Radiography, and Outpatient Departments at Torbay Hospital.

You will assist consultants in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontic, and Restorative Dentistry, delivering high-quality care to patients, including those with complex needs, and managing outpatient clinics and surgical lists daily.

No postgraduate dental radiography qualification? No problem! This role offers a band 4 development opportunity with training and support to gain necessary competencies, with potential progression to band 5 upon qualification.

Main duties

• Provide chairside and first support assistance to consultants in various dental specialties.
• Deliver excellent Dental Nursing Care, including for patients with complex needs.
• Manage outpatient clinics and surgical lists daily.
• Hold the National Certificate of Dental Nursing (or equivalent), a Dental Radiography Qualification, and be registered with the GDC. Flexibility in working hours is required.
• Be enthusiastic, experienced in hospital settings, and committed to patient care. Strong clinical and communication skills are essential.
