East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is committed to providing qualified Specialist Community Practitioner District Nurses to support Community Nursing Teams working in patients own homes in the Community in East Sussex, across EHS and H & R PCNs.
An exciting opportunity to apply for the new Specialist Community Practitioner District Nurse training course in conjunction with the University of Brighton. This course now includes V300 Independent Prescribing. The length of the course has been extended to 51 weeks (which includes a supported practice period at the end of the course and 6 weeks annual leave). You will be given the opportunity to apply for the Specialist Practitioner District Nurse Band 6 post at the end of the course. On completion of the course, employment to a band 6 post is not guaranteed.
The course runs from September 2025. Joint interviews will be held in May 2025 . The course is at Level 7 and entry requirements are that the:
Applicants should ideally have a minimum of 3 years Community nursing experience and be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm and commitment to the future of community nursing and supporting our residents of East Sussex in their own homes. You will be supported throughout by experienced Practice Supervisors and Assessors.
Applicants will be funded at Mid point Band 5.
There is also the possibility to complete the course part time over 2 years.
