Job summary

Qualifications

• Masters degree in pharmacy (4 years) or equivalent experience or qualifications.

• Professional knowledge of medicines management systems and processes in an integrated NHS.
• Experience of teaching & supervision of pharmacists, technicians, assistants and students.
• Knowledge of the specialist area as described in the job advert.
• Flexible to undertake emergency duty including weekends, bank holidays and evening opening.
• Travel between sites and outside the organization; commitment to continuing professional development.

We are committed to developing and training our staff and you will join our dynamic pharmacy team as a rotational pharmacist, providing pharmaceutical care to a number of different specialties. This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills, interprofessional review and shared-decision making upon presentation. Withybush General Hospital is a busy district general hospital with approximately 250 beds. It provides a range of medical and surgical specialities including coronary care, acute stroke, trauma and orthopaedics, frailty, critical care and the emergency department. Main duties of the job

You will be joining a team of experienced Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians and you will be expected to work as part of the multidisciplinary team, to deliver a patient focused clinical pharmacy service in all areas. You will be working as a key member of the pharmacy team providing a clinical service to a number of different areas on rotation being an integral part of the MDT in all areas. You will have the opportunity to develop your practice in a wide range of clinical areas in a small and friendly general hospital. You will be supported in any ongoing studies including prescribing qualifications if not already gained. You will be expected to undertake the role of responsible pharmacist when working as part of the dispensary team. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
