We are currently looking for compassionate female support workers to provide care to a young woman in her 20’s who lives independently in the Winchester area. This particular individual enjoys cooking and her six-year-old Jack Russell named Grace, who is incredibly friendly. They need reliable, bubbly, bright support staff who are happy to support her in and out of her home with daily tasks (like shopping) and are comfortable with dogs.

Given the nature of the role, there is a requirement for candidates to hold a full, valid, and clean driving licence, access to their own motorised transport, and a business insurance policy.

About You

As a Specialist Care support worker, you will play a crucial part in supporting this individual to live a meaningful and fulfilled life despite any physical or mental challenges they may face on a daily basis. You will empower those you support to identify their goals, pursue their hobbies, and in some cases, be part of the local community.

You’re an experienced, empathetic, and resilient Support Worker, deeply committed to assisting individuals with a unique range of disabilities and associated health needs. You will be compassionate, observant, patient, and confident. You will be skilled in monitoring changes in mood and developing techniques to calm and de-escalate. Ideally, you will have knowledge and experience of complex needs. You’re able to communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people and their families, and always adopt a person-centred approach.

You enjoy helping individuals to be independent through companionship, providing reassurance, and enabling confidence. You take pride in doing a great job and are happy assisting with cooking, domestic duties, personal care, attending appointments, and social activities. You’re keen to develop your career through training, learning, and gaining relevant qualifications.

About the Role

As a member of our Specialist Care Support Team, you will be passionate about making a difference in an individual’s life. The purpose of the role is to support our customers to achieve life goals and aspirations through social, emotional, physical, and cultural requirements in a person-centred way, as outlined in the customers' individualised care plan, in a manner that is professional, positive, and upholds the values of the SCiA Group.

If you’re successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service, which we’ll pay for.
