Job summary

NHS Highland is seeking an enthusiastic Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our Belford Hospital team in Fort William, Lochaber. You will contribute to a high quality multi-disciplinary service across Biochemistry, Haematology, Coagulation, Blood Transfusion and Microbiology.

Applicants must be HCPC registered with experience in an acute NHS laboratory; you should work well in a multidisciplinary team and be able to contribute to the on-call 24/7/365 rota as the Lochaber redesign progresses.

Qualifications

• Must be HCPC registered and have experience in an acute NHS laboratory.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary environment is desirable.
• Able to work independently within a multidisciplinary team and follow written protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high quality multi-disciplinary service to the Lochaber area.
• Work within Belford Hospital laboratory covering Biochemistry, Haematology, Coagulation, Blood Transfusion and Microbiology.
• Contribute to the on-call 24/7/365 rota and participate in the Lochaber redesign project.
