East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust invites applications for a motivated Biomedical Scientist to join the Microbiology Laboratory at Eastbourne District General Hospital. The post involves routine microbiology duties across a wide range of specimen types, using modern analysers and IT systems.

The role requires HCPC registration and an IBMS specialist portfolio, with at least two years post-qualification UK experience. A supportive NHS environment with 7-day rotas is described.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and IBMS specialist portfolio are required.
• Minimum 2 years post-registration laboratory experience in the UK.
• Experience in routine microbiology diagnostics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all aspects of routine laboratory work in Microbiology.
• Perform culture, microscopy, serology, and molecular testing.
• Assist in antimicrobial susceptibility testing and result interpretation.
• Work with diverse specimen types including blood, urine, CSF and stool.
