Job summary
The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with Biochemistry focus at Band 6 level. You will work within a large hub laboratory serving Leeds Teaching Hospitals and the wider community, including the regional Oncology centre and the Leeds Children's Hospital.
Applicants should be registered with HCPC and have experience as Band 6 or be working towards an IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Biochemistry.
Qualifications
- HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.
- Experience as Band 6 in Biochemistry or working towards Specialist Portfolio.
- IBMS Specialist Portfolio is required for post if HCPC registration is from 2006 or later.
Responsibilities
- Carry out a wide range of specialist clinical technical investigations.
- Work in a team and independently, including on-call duties.
- Communicate highly complex information to colleagues and healthcare staff.
- Attend MDT and user meetings as appropriate.
- Lead projects under supervision and contribute to R&D.
- Assist in day-to-day running of the laboratory and maintain QC/EQA.
