Are you an experienced and dedicated teacher with a passion for making a difference? Our SSENS team are looking for Specialist Advisory Teachers to join their team!

The Specialist Special Educational Needs Service (SSENS) sits within our Wiltshire’s 0-25 Special Educational Needs, Disability, and Inclusion Service and offers expert support to enhance life opportunities for children and young people with additional needs.

As a Specialist Teacher, you will work both virtually, using Microsoft Teams, and on-site through school and setting visits. Your primary responsibility is to provide comprehensive, practical advice about specific learning, communication and behavioural challenges alongside recommending appropriate resources and interventions to enhance school provision. As part of this role, you will attend child-focused meetings, deliver training sessions to school staff and parent/carers and contribute to wider initiatives around SEND within the Local Authority. The role involves lone working and there may be county wide travel.

Our ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status and ideally, a relevant post graduate qualification in SEND, alongside significant and recent experience supporting students with communication and interaction and/or cognition and learning needs within mainstream provision. We are particularly interested in secondary phase and post 16 expertise although experience in primary schools is advantageous. Specialist knowledge and experience in supporting neurodivergent learners with autism, ADHD or Specific Learning Difficulties is essential. You will offer advice about high-quality inclusive teaching, addressing barriers to learning and implementing strategies to support access to both the curriculum and the learning environment.

The postholder will be employed on Centrally Employed Teachers pay and conditions.
