Job description

Special Transitional Care Support Worker/Nursery Nurse

Closing date: 22 May 2025

Join our neonatal team at St Helier Hospital as a trained nursery nurse or nursing associate. We are a Level 2 Neonatal Unit providing all levels of neonatal care, including transitional care on our postnatal wards.

Main duties
  • Assist in delivering safe and effective care to babies requiring Neonatal Special Care (SC) and Transitional Care (NTC).
  • Communicate directly with neonatal nursing and medical teams to plan care.
  • Act autonomously to escalate concerns about babies' conditions.
  • Support health promotion and provide care guidance to families.
  • Instruct and advise parents on bathing, resuscitation, and safe sleep.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • GCSE C/4 in Maths and English or equivalent; Level 3 Early Years qualification or Nursing Associate qualification.
  • FDSci Health and Social Care or equivalent; Care Certificate completed.

This role requires a DBS check in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.

Salary: £31,081 to £33,665 per annum, including HCAS (outer London).
