Job summary

TimePlan Education is recruiting a Special Needs Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Hounslow, West London. The role supports pupils across either Primary or Secondary sites, working closely with teachers and the support team to enable access to learning.

The successful candidate will assist pupils with ASD, SEMH, PMLD and MLD, providing 1:1 and small-group support and helping with communication and social development. DBS checks will be completed.

Qualifications

• Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or related role.
• Ability to support pupils with ASD, SEMH, PMLD, MLD is advantageous.
• Willingness to undergo safeguarding checks and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across Primary or Secondary sites.
• Support learning, communication, emotional regulation and social development.
• Assist with personal and intimate care when required and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed.

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs? We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Hounslow, supporting pupils across either the Primary or Secondary site.

You will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to help pupils with ASD, SEMH, PMLD and MLD access learning, develop their independence and achieve their potential.

The role will involve 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils with their learning, communication, emotional regulation and social development. You may also support pupils with behaviour that can be challenging and provide personal and intimate care, including toileting, changing and feeding where required.

We welcome applications from experienced SEN Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Support Workers, Care Workers and candidates with experience working with children or young people. Previous SEND experience is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.

The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient, compassionate and reliable, with a genuine desire to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.
