Job summary

Protocol Education are recruiting teaching assistants to work with children with special needs on a one-to-one basis in a newly developed school in Croydon. You will support pupils with autism, speech and language difficulties and cognitive differences, developing vocabulary, communication and social skills.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:30–16:15, starting September 2026, with long-term opportunities and access to CPD including Team Teach and safeguarding training.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications and training in education or safeguarding.
• Passion for working with children with special needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to pupils with special needs in class and during activities.
• Support students with autism, speech and language difficulties and cognitive differences.
• Help develop vocabulary, communication, and social skills across activities (music, art, P.E.).
