A leading primary school in Northampton is looking for a caring and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant starting September 2025. The role involves supporting pupils with various special educational needs to help them thrive academically and socially within the classroom environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, particularly in working with children with SEN, and must possess a DBS on the Update Service.

We are seeking a caring and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated primary school. This is a full-time, term-time only position, working Monday to Friday.
You will support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, both within the classroom and during individual or small group sessions. You'll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help children access the curriculum and thrive socially and emotionally.
Pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
Pupils with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
Pupils with mild to moderate learning difficulties or developmental delays
Experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting (essential)
A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one (essential)
Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt strategies to meet individual needs
A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting children
