Job summary

Affinity Partnerships is seeking a Special Needs Teacher in the Morden area to join a client for a full-time, long-term role.

You will teach pupils with Autism, PMLD, challenging behaviours and other complex needs, with access to wide resources to keep learning engaging.

The schools offer excellent facilities; pay is GBP140–GBP384 per day with weekly pay, and support from a dedicated consultant, CV writing help, safeguarding training, CPD, and PAYE/Umbrella options.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching pupils with Autism, PMLD, challenging behaviours or complex learning needs.
  • Ability to deliver a well-planned curriculum matched to cognitive ability.
  • Strong classroom management and adaptation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a sequenced curriculum matched to cognitive ability and individual strengths.
  • Manage classroom environment and line-manage staff where required.
  • Develop high-quality education provision while safeguarding pupil wellbeing.
  • Monitor, assess, report and record learning experiences.
  • Support learners with effective communication methods (Symbolic, Makaton, Verbal, AAC).

Salary: GBP140 - GBP384 per day + Weekly Pay

Are you a Special Needs Teacher with experience working with pupils who have Autism, PMLD, challenging behaviours, or Complex Learning Needs? Affinity Workforce Solutions are working with a client in the Morden and surrounding area to find ECTs, experienced Teachers to work on a Full-time, long-term basis. The schools facilities are excellent, and you will have access to a large source of resources to engage students and ensure that learning is fun.

The schools offer a specialist provision for pupils aged between 2-19 with a range of complex and significant learning needs in the area of cognition and learning. This role includes learning with Autistic spectrum condition and those with complex physical and sensory impairments.

Main teaching themes:
  • To provide a well-planned, sequenced curriculum that is matched to both cognitive ability and individual strength that prepares students for adulthood.
  • To assume responsibility for classroom management as well as the environment, pupils and staff including line management of class staff (with support and training).
  • Develop a provision of the highest possible quality of education and maintain a supportive atmosphere, ensuring the safety, protection and well-being of each pupil.
  • Assist in the development of the curriculum.
  • Be responsible for monitoring, assessing, reporting, recording, and evaluation of learning experiences.
  • Providing our learners with an effective means of communication to enable them to have a voice E.g. Symbolic, Makaton, Verbal, Gestural, AAC.
  • Provide a breadth of experiences that enables learners to generalise, maintain and contextualise skills/experiences.
  • Promote opportunities for peer and social interaction to develop confidence, resilience and social skills.
  • This includes planning, marking and attending staff meetings.
SEN Teachers work with students who face a wide variety of challenges, including:
  • Learning difficulties – conditions such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, and dyscalculia, which affect the way a child processes information.
  • Communication disorders – students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), speech and language difficulties, or other conditions that affect their ability to communicate.
  • Emotional and behavioural difficulties – students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or those with trauma-related or other psychological conditions.
  • Physical disabilities – students with mobility issues or other physical impairments that may require adaptive equipment and resources.
  • Sensory impairments – children with hearing and vision impairments, requiring specific teaching techniques and tools
