Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is seeking a compassionate Special Needs Teacher to join a small, outstanding primary school caring for pupils with special educational needs. You will contribute to a supportive, inclusive learning environment and work closely with the team to tailor teaching to individual needs.

With QTS and experience in SEN, you will develop IEPs, use engaging strategies, and collaborate with therapists, parents and staff to support pupils' progress and well-being within a

Responsibilities

  • Teach a small class of primary-aged pupils with special educational needs.
  • Create individualised education plans (IEPs) for each pupil.

Job Role:
  • Teaching a small class of primary-aged pupils with special educational needs

  • Using a range of specialised resources and equipment to support pupil learning and development
  • Collaborating with support staff, therapists, and parents to provide a holistic approach to education
  • Assessing pupil progress and providing regular feedback to pupils, parents, and the school's leadership team
  • Contributing to the school's inclusive and nurturing ethos, promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being

Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working with pupils with special educational needs
  • Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting the individual needs of each pupil
  • Strong understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support pupils with diverse needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Resilience, patience, and adaptability in responding to the unique challenges of special education
  • Knowledge of current educational practices and legislation related to special educational needs
