Job summary

Oxted School is seeking a passionate learning support assistant to help deliver tailored educational support for pupils, including those with special needs.

You will support teachers, assist with personal care, and help promote independence within a vibrant school community that values inclusion and safeguarding. This is a full-time, term-time position, 36 hours per week across 39 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) with basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to work towards Level 2 vocational qualifications or demonstrate specialist skills.
• Competence with IT tools, strong communication, and organisational skills.
• Physical ability to handle manual tasks and work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialised support for pupils or groups, using appropriate tools and interventions.
• Assist with personal care routines and respond to routine medical needs.
• Plan, organise, and prioritise own tasks to meet objectives.
• Maintain accurate records and follow school policies.
• Collaborate with staff and report concerns, including safeguarding issues.
• Uphold school values, health and safety, and equality standards.
