Job summary

SEND School in Peckham is seeking a dedicated Child Care Worker to support pupils aged 5-18 with SEND in a school-based setting. The role involves 1:1 or small group support, personal care, and helping with life skills during school hours.

You will join a team focused on safeguarding, with DBS checks required or in process. The position is full-time, term-time only, with school hours 8:30am–4pm and registration can be completed remotely.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young adults with learning difficulties or disabilities.
• Trained in moving and handling or willing to undertake the training.
• Care based experience with SEND needs.
• Valid DBS registered with the online update service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 or group basis with learning development and care needs at school.
• Assist with personal care and PEG feeding/tube feeding when required.
• Work collaboratively with school staff to promote safety and inclusivity.
• Maintain good communication with pupils, families, and consultants.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and complete required checks.
