Job summary

Teaching Vacancies seeks a Special Needs Learning Support Assistant to work under the SENDCo and teaching staff, enabling full access to learning for pupils and assisting with classroom management.

You will supervise pupils, support those with high needs and general learners, contribute to behaviour and personal care plans, liaise with parents as appropriate, and participate in safeguarding procedures, including DBS checks.

Qualifications

• Experience with pupils in a learning environment.
• NVQ 2/3 or equivalent qualifications or experience.
• First aid and child protection training.
• Willing to undertake training for learning strategies like literacy.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support pupils, including those with high needs.
• Assist with personal care and health programmes as required.
• Promote inclusion and positive behaviour in class.
• Support teachers with lesson planning and assessment.
• Assist with displays and learning resources.
