At Leader Education, we are seeking a Special Needs Assistant to support children within a SEND school who cater for both primary and secondary students, this school is based in Blyth, Northumberland.

The ideal Learning Support Assistant will have had previous experience working with young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as a genuine interest and commitment to helping them reach their full potential.

The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30 until 15:30.

Working with Leader Education:

  • A dedicated consultant to answer any queries and for ongoing support
  • Potential permanent contract after a qualifying period

The successful Candidate will:

  • Hold or undergo a new Enhanced DBS check on the update service
  • Monitor and manage student's behaviour and wellbeing
  • Support the development of social and emotional skills
  • Assist with personal care if needed
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting young people with diverse needs
