We are recruiting for a Special Education Teacher in the Redwick area of South Gloucestershire / bordering Bristol. Ideally you will have a have experience of working with Children with Autism and related communication difficulties.

You will be joining one of the UK's leading provider of Special Education Needs across the country. With each of their schools achieving outstanding or working towards outstanding ratings with Ofsted you will be joining a passionate multi discipliary team. This Specialist School provide education to children and young people up to the age of 19 with a variety of learning disabilites, Autism or communication needs. They firmly believe in changing their lives for the better through education. They also have a strong commitment towards developing their fantastic team and offering them a clear career pathway.

Duties

You will be key in delivering high-quality teaching to the young people within a safe environment helping to equip them for the next stage of their lives. The School offers life skills as well as a range of GCSE / Functional Skills / BTEC accreditations and entry level pathways to further education.

Criteria

• Relevant knowledge of working with children with ASD desirable.
• Understanding Safeguarding and child protection guidelines.
• PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
• Experience of Teaching Maths, English or Computing at KS3/KS4 desirable (Other Subjects will be considered)
• Good communication skills both written & verbal.
• Ability to engage students in positive enabling relationships.
