Overview

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Lincolnshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN / SEND, as well as SEMH and other needs. We work with children and young people with MLD and SLD, and we aim to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable learners in the UK. This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND tutors who prefer 1:1 tutoring in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

At Targeted Provision our team supports the child with ongoing guidance from SEN / SEND Support Specialists. This role involves working 1:1 with young people referred by local authorities and schools, delivering flexible and holistic tutoring and mentoring in a trauma-informed approach.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role

• Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other needs referred to Targeted Provision
• Support individuals referred by local authorities and schools in educational and social-emotional development
• Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring

SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities

• Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
• Deliver engaging sessions that meet the young person’s educational and social-emotional needs
• Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress

SEN / SEND Tutor requirements

• Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
• Minimum 2 years teaching experience
• Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
• Understanding of safeguarding processes
• Enhanced DBS (assistance to obtain at cost if needed)
• Two professional references
• UK residency and right to work (including for remote/online work)

SEN / SEND Tutor employment status

• Engage with us as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
• Work through a contract for service and be paid via PAYE
• No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage
• Our insurance covers the work you do for us
• This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
