Base pay range

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Norfolk.

Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.

We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasing support for children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).

We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Norfolk.

At Targeted Provision, our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. You will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.

This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with various learning needs, using a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed approach to significantly improve their educational journey.

The SEN / SEND Tutor Role

  • Providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred by local authorities and schools
  • Supporting their educational and social-emotional development through flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring

SEN / SEND Tutor Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Planning engaging sessions tailored to each young person's needs
  • Delivering holistic support to enhance their educational and social-emotional progress
  • Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on progress

SEN / SEND Tutor Requirements

  • Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience
  • Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
  • Enhanced DBS (assistance available at cost)
  • Two professional references
  • Must be based in the UK with the right to work, even for remote assignments

It is a strict requirement to promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people and to follow safeguarding policies at all times.

Employment Status

  • This position involves engaging as a Worker for short-term assignments
  • Paid via PAYE under a contract for service
  • No set amount of work or expenses coverage
  • Insurance covers your work for us
  • This is not a self-employed position
