Role Description
This is a full-time or part-time role for a Special Education Advisor, based in Newcastle Upon Tyne with clients across England. Responsibilities include providing educational consulting and advice to parents, teachers, and school staff, developing and implementing education, health and care plans, coordinating with professionals, and liaising with Local Authorities to secure provision and funding.
The role involves school assessment visits, observations, report writing, building rapport with schools, offering training, and multidisciplinary collaboration with therapists and agencies.
The position is suited for senior leaders or SENDCos seeking to move away from classroom teaching, with office-based work and travel across the country. Typical hours are 37.5 per week, with some extended days due to travel. Knowledge of SEND law and EHCPs is essential. The workload includes meetings, calls, visits, and reports. The role supports children aged 3-25, with expertise across this range considered. Holiday entitlement is approximately 9 weeks per year, and salary is based on experience.
