Job summary

SPAR Kirkby Stephen is seeking a Deli Assistant to join our team at Edenside Garage. You will prepare and serve fresh deli items, assist customers, and keep counters stocked while maintaining high food safety standards.

About the Role

As a Deli Assistant, you’ll be right at the heart of delivering great service and great food to our customers. You’ll prepare and serve a variety of freshly made products, from ready-to-go items to delicious made-to-order options. Working as part of a supportive team, you’ll help create a welcoming environment while keeping our high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Your role will be varied, hands‑on, and customer‑focused, including:

• Providing friendly, helpful service and sharing product knowledge with customers
• Preparing, baking, and presenting our tasty range of deli products
• Ensuring shelves and counters are fully stocked and attractively displayed
• Following food safety standards including allergen awareness, labelling, and audits
• Keeping equipment and work areas clean, safe, and sanitised at all times
