Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Spacecraft Quality Inspector to join our team in Guildford. The role focuses on inspection and verification of high-value engineering products throughout manufacturing and assembly, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer quality requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent military experience, with experience in aerospace/space inspection, a focus on detail, and ability to work across cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quality Inspector within aerospace/space sectors.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of manufactured, assembled, and integrated components to ensure compliance with drawings and quality standards.
• Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using inspection tools and equipment.
• Review manufacturing documentation, inspection records, and quality reports.
• Identify, record, and report non-conformances and support investigations and corrective actions.
• Verify processes and products comply with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
• Support First Article Inspections (FAI) and incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, assembly, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate quality documentation and inspection records.
• Participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
