Job summary

A leading aerospace technology company in the United Kingdom is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the design and development of nano and micro satellites. The ideal candidate will have a degree in relevant engineering fields and at least 2 years of experience with SolidWorks. Responsibilities include designing dynamic parts, preparing manufacturing drawings, and performing structural calculations. The role offers a salary starting from £40k to £65k.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years experience in mechanical design or related position.
• Experience with 2D engineering drawings and understanding of GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Support design of satellite layouts and feasibility studies.
• Design and develop satellites and their mechanical subsystems.
• Prepare manufacturing drawings and collaborate with suppliers.

Skills

Passion for space engineering

3D modelling with SolidWorks

Hands-on skills with measurement and inspection tools

Good English language skills

Education

Degree in mechanical/mechatronics/aerospace engineering or equivalent
