Job summary

ALTEN seeks an AIT Electrical Operator to join our Stevenage team, responsible for assembling, integrating and testing advanced aerospace and space systems in a highly regulated setting.

Junior-level candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (or equivalent military experience) are welcomed. Expect on-site work, strict procedures and opportunities for continuous learning and career growth within ALTEN.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, assembly, integration or test environment.
• Background in Aerospace, Space, Defence, Electronics, Automotive or another highly regulated industry.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, procedures and technical documentation.
• Strong practical and hands-on engineering skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Experience working to strict processes and procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible and proactive approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly, integration and test activities in accordance with engineering procedures and work instructions.
• Prepare hardware and equipment for integration and testing activities.
• Support electrical and mechanical integration of aerospace and space systems.
• Execute functional tests and record test results accurately.
• Identify and report non-conformances, anomalies and defects.
• Complete manufacturing and quality documentation in line with project requirements.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and cleanliness requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the AIT environment
